CONNOLLY REVITALIZES DOUGLASVILLE RETAIL CENTER, ADDS NATIONAL BRANDS TO REGIONAL RETAIL FOOTPRINT

DOUGLASVILLE, Ga. – Jan. 11, 2018 – CONNOLLY, a premier real estate developer and investor in the Southeast, today announces the revitalization of Arbor Square, one of Douglasville’s oldest shopping centers. The newly redeveloped center will house four national brands opening in 2018: HomeGoods, Burlington, Bealls Outlet and Del Taco.

Breathing Life into an Established Institution

Arbor Square is one of Douglasville’s oldest shopping centers. Situated at one of the city’s busiest intersections (Hwy 5 and Douglas Blvd), the property has been in CONNOLLY’s portfolio since originally built in 1977.

“We’ve had ties to Douglasville for four decades and wanted this renovation to be what this site at Main & Main and the people of the community deserve,” notes J.R. Connolly, CEO of CONNOLLY. “We’ve been planning the redevelopment of Arbor Square for a quite a while; and we waited for the perfect combination of high quality anchors before kicking our renovation into high gear.”

Construction is underway for the complete overhaul and reconstruction of the current facade of the center. “When completed in spring of 2018, it will look and feel like a brand-new shopping center,” adds Connolly.

Additional Retailers / Services at Arbor Square

In addition to the four national retailers opening next year, Arbor Square will continue to feature some of its current tenants, including Tile & Stone Express (which has relocated to another unit within the development), Boost Mobile and Monterey’s Mexican Restaurant.

Adding to the City’s Economy

Arbor Square is adjacent to Arbor Place Mall, a regional destination that attracts shoppers from eight surrounding counties in Georgia. The redevelopment of Arbor Square will bring quality jobs and opportunities for the citizens of Douglasville and Douglas County.

“A growing number of young professionals and large companies are choosing Douglasville, creating demand for new housing and retail,” said Chris Pumphrey, Executive Director of Douglasville County Economic Development Authority. “The reinvestment by Connolly is the perfect response to this demand and promises to be a catalyst for future investment.”
